Dave Smith - NATURAL RUNNING COACH
I've been running for fun and fitness for over 30 years and have taken part in many events from flat 5Km fun-runs, to challenging 10k's, 9 & 10 mile races and half marathons—off road, on road, in every season of the year; some with more success than others. My passion is for Trail Running and living in the Cotswolds gives me plenty of opportunity to follow my heart into the countryside.
About 12 years ago I took a Coach qualification with England Athletics, which enabled me to understand the physiology of running, performance factors, F.I.T., focus and ability.
About 10 years ago I suffered two disastrous Achilles-heel injuries, which prevented me from running for 18 months. (Did you know that injury affects 86% of runners and is accepted as part of the deal—if you run you get injured!)
I thought there must be a better way...
I read the books, watched the videos, did the research, and sure enough the evidence was there—it is possible to run WITHOUT injury. As a result I have developed a "Natural" running style, which really works (I have remained injury-free ever since) and which I now teach to others.
Running is absolutely one of the best ways to stay fit and healthy—physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
